Monthly
Performance Report
August 2022
Prepared by OTS Service Evaluation
·
Ridership
Average weekday ridership
for the month of August 2022 was 120,470, up by 14,488 or 13.7% from the
previous year. Fiscal year-to-date ridership is at 6,342,043, up by 9% from the
previous year. With schools back in session at the end of the month, this trend
should continue.
Ridership continues to recover
in 2022 and is still approximately 36 percent lower than pre-pandemic level.
·
On-Time Performance
System-wide on-time performance
is at 67.2% for the month of August 2022. The drop in on-time performance can
be attributed to school going back in session and a gradual economic
recovery. Out of 107 total routes, 33 routes
exceeded on-time performance at 80% and one (1) performed under 50%.
The DTS and OTS Service
Review Committee reviews service levels, including on-time performance monthly.
·
Safety and Security
The number of reported vandalism
crimes finally tapered off. Working with the Honolulu Police Department, a
serial vandal was apprehended.
·
Maintenance
As a result of the
COVID pandemic, the spare ratio is above our normal 20% requirement due to low
ridership. The fleet size has been decreased from 520 to 466 vehicles. We
project that at this quantity we will meet our spare ratio requirements when
rail service begins.
